Welcome to the Media Center. Regular Conversation is on  “Whisper Level” and Movement is on “Seated Quietly”. Other activity expectations are:
Silent 0 Voice Level	New student? Stand by teacher.	ENTERING THE MEDIA CENTER	Enter silently with pretzel hugs and quiet bubbles. Line should be in A-B-C order. (This is also table sea order.) Leave books at Book Drop Backpacks on chairbacks (No breaks) Do not use table materials. Walk (or go back and try again.)		Others may be using the media center and working.
Silent 0 Voice Level	Raise hand after teacher has finished.	TEACHER TALK PRESENTATION LESSON	Sitting quietly, Criss-cross applesauce.	Focused on teacher. Ignoring distractions and noises.	“What did the teacher give for instructions?”
Table Talk 2 Voice Level	Ask a table friend.	TABLE ACTIVITY	Use materials at your table. Stay seated.	“Am I working on task?” “Am I cooperating with my team?”	“Can I finish this today?” “Is my name on my work?”
1 Voice Level Whisper		BOOK BROWSING & CHECK OUT	1.    Push in chair. 2.    Move about to bookshelves, WALKING, NEVER running. 3.    Choose a book. Return it to its spot in the book neighborhood if you decide you’re not interested. 4.    Stand in line quietly. Your turn to talk will be when you are having your book “beeped”. Noisies go to the end of the line. 5.    Sit in a comfy spot and read quietly.		“Is this book JUST RIGHT 4 ME?” “Do I need a resource for a project?”
2 Voice Level Table Talk	Ask the media helper, then ask the media specialist.	ACTIVE RESEARCH HOTSPOT CENTER COLLABORATION TEAM	1.    Log onto computers. Do not move them around. 2.    Use your center quietly, respectfully, efficiently. 3.    Log off			“Am I participating?” “Am I contributing?”
		MEDIA MINON TEACHER HELPER	Pass out supplies as needed. Collect books. Shelve Easy Reader picture books in A-B-C order. Shelve paperbacks by genre. Tidy tables. Sharpen as needed. Remind friends to pick up their things, underneath tables, organize supplies.		“Do I love the library?” “Do I love information?”
Silent 0 Voice Level	Raise hand to answer Exit Slips.	EXITING	Exit silently with pretzel hugs and quiet bubbles. Line should be in A-B-C order.		“What did I like best about this visit?”
